DULCE ET DECORUM.

The title echoes one of the war poems of Wilfrid Owen,

(read it here)

expressing disillusion with the First World War. The image celebrates my great Uncle, John William Grasby, who served the war and travelled home to Walshford Bridge, near Wetherby, on a third class railway warrant. Back in his village he went down with the flu epidemic and died at home. My grand-father remembered him crying out, thinking he had to go over the top again. His MM was given for courageously  going under fire into No Man’s Land.
